Whether we are delivering water, power, or gas; or draining water from one place to another, it’s best to keep all your pipes true and proper to the plan so you know where they are located after the work is done if you ever need to get to them later.
During construction, we stub out all utility as necessary prior to backfilling trenches and compacting over the newly installed lines. We run sleeves as needed to all planter beds, new grass areas, and make sure we leave extra access below walkways, patios, pool decks, etc. in case any additional work is needed later.
Once concrete is poured or stonework installed, it’s harder and more time consuming to go back and get back this access. This is another common pitfall we see among unskilled labor and lower paid contractors.
